Chaga is loved and honoured by many cultures worldwide. It is a  true teacher to which one may feel a  great sense of reverence.
Chaga, (akin to its fellow mushrooms reishi, Coriolus and Cordyceps )  uses a multitude of mechanisms to support our immunological health, including mitochondrial-mediated action. It may help to support metabolic health, promoting healthy metabolism, and is considered to be particularly tonifying for our heart (emotions), brain (including our pineal gland),  liver, skin, endocrine (reproductive), and digestive systems.
It also has exceptional geno protective properties. Chaga traditionally grows on birch, alder, and spruce trees. Birch trees traditionally symbolise rebirth and protection, Alder trees The Goddess, and balance between our masculine and feminine aspects and Spruce trees eternal life.
Interestingly Chaga is flammable and was traditionally used as tinder, helping to kindle a flame. Chaga’s Spirit is one that helps us to remember we maintain true harmony,  strength, and grace by listening to our inner wisdom and releasing (letting go), of that which no longer serves our highest evolution (selves). This may help to promote a  conscious sense of rebirth.
Chaga has a  deeply Shamanic quality, encouraging a heightened sense of awareness within ourselves. Coupled with its rebirthing quality this may encourage us to integrate all parts of ourselves, which is held in love and equanimity, which may help us to move towards unity consciousness.  As our inner defines our outer world, we may find we feel more harmoniously connected with others and nature.
When I think of Chaga I am reminded most of White Tara, Green Tara, waterfalls, and ravens-  said to remind us of our Divine nature during our earthly existence.
 Its therapeutic value is timeless.
